Paediatric Dentistry is the dental specialty pertaining to the dental care and treatment of children, it is one of the most important branches of dentistry. 
Our aim is to give painless dental treatment to children and to remove their fears and anxiety regarding dental treatment. We try to modify a child’s behavior towards dental treatment by imparting different strategies during their dental treatment.
RCD department of Paediatric dentistry is one of the few departments in the country which promote optimal oral health by prevention and education.

•  We are the first fully established Paediatric dentistry Department in whole KPK in a short span of 3 years, fully equipped with inhalation sedation, minor OT and full mouth rehabilitation under G>A.
•   We are constantly updating the knowledge of the faculty by regularly organizing courses, workshops and conferences.
•   The department has a strong faculty and is equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment.

The department started with only one initially and has grown into a big department with six dental units. It caters to the need of both undergraduate and post graduate students. It regularly holds continued educational activities and is highly respected department in the community.

•    Vital Pulpotomy: is the treatment of choice when treating healthy, freshly exposed pulp in immature teeth where the root apex is still open and the dentine wall is thin. The remaining treated vital pulp will continue to produce dentine. Closing the apex and thickening the dentine wall.
•    Nonvital Pulpotomy: It is a two visit procedure, in which the inflamed pulp is treated with a strong antiseptic solution to save the tooth from being extracted. 
•    Dental Restorations/Fillings: Dental restoration, dental fillings, or simply fillings, are treatments used to restore the function, integrity, and morphology of missing tooth structure resulting from caries
•    Apexification: Apexification is a method of dental treatment to induce a calcific barrier in a root with incomplete formation or open apex of a tooth with necrotic pulp.
•    Management of Dental Trauma: All types of dental trauma from injuries are treated including complex tooth fractures.
•    Micro abrasion: is a quick and painless solution for removing yellow, white, or brown spots, stains, and discolorations on the teeth.
•    Stainless Steel Crown: is an extremely durable restoration with several clear-cut indications for use in primary teeth including: following a pulpotomy/pulpectomy; for teeth with developmental defects or large carious lesions involving multiple surfaces where an amalgam is likely to fail; and for fractured teeth.
•    Extractions: it is a procedure in which dental tools are used to pull out infected and grossly carious the teeth which cannot be saved otherwise. 
•    Inhalation Sedation: A light form of conscious sedation that is a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide gases, administered by the dentist to your child. It is used to help reduce anxiety and fear in children who are nervous or worried about having dental treatment.
•    General Anesthesia Cases: Uncooperative Patients and Mentally / Physical challenged Children are treated under general anesthesia. All the procedures are completed in a single general anesthesia session. 
•    Scaling: is a common dental procedure for patients with gum disease. This is a type of dental cleaning that reaches below the gumline to remove plaque buildup.
