Department of Orthodontics

The department of Orthodontics has built a strong reputation in a short time among the orthodontic circles of the region for training and producing excellent orthodontists and researchers. The dedicated faculty members of the department are being supported by excellent and caring clinical and administrative staff and assistants. Our main objective is to equip students with the highest quality education and to be proficient in the clinical specialty of orthodontics. We also provide a post-graduate FCPS training programme that satisfies the standards of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP). The post-graduate programme consists of intensive didactic, clinical, and research components.

Research:

Under the guidance of the supervisors and faculty, residents develop a research project and are expected to present and publish their research at different forums. Residents are also required to publish their manuscripts to a refereed journal. This process promotes creative thinking, critical analysis, and teaches residents to recognize the importance of evidence-based knowledge. Currently the department is engaged in research projects involving digital imaging, accelerated orthodontics, mini-screw anchorage, orthodontic bonding and others.
