Department of Anatomy

The subject of anatomy is one of the foundation subjects for medical and dental sciences. It deals with bodily structure of humans and is taught in first year of dentistry. The department has well trained and experienced postgraduate faculty. The department offers modular integrated teaching system with focus on student based learning strategies including small group interactive sessions, directed self-learning and demonstrations. 
It has a well-equipped museum with models of Gross anatomy, Embryology, Histology and Neuroanatomy. It has a separate corner for teaching X-rays and cross-sectional models for radiological and cross-sectional anatomy. Articulated and disarticulated skeletons with a bone bank is also available.
The dissection hall is well lighted and fully air-conditioned. It is provided with a
large mortuary which can accommodate more than six cadavers
The department has state of art histology laboratory with LED projector in addition to microscopes and Carolina slides. The projection of slides on LED projector helps better teaching and understanding of subject.
