World Oral Health Celebrations at Rehman College of Dentistry

The recently concluded World Oral Health Celebrations at Rehman College of Dentistry (RCD) showcased a remarkable blend of educational excellence, political support, and commitment to healthcare innovation.

The event, which took place on March 6th, saw the active participation of influential figures, further emphasizing the importance of oral health education in the region. One of the key highlights of the celebration was the presence and address by Babar Salim Swati, Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly. Swati, acknowledging the pivotal role of RMI, pledged support from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to facilitate the establishment of Rehman University. This assurance came after speaker was informed that RMI has achieved the criteria and have all the required staff eight-year ago but the provincial and federal government to approve it.
Swati recognised the substantial contributions of RMI, not only in providing advanced healthcare facilities but also in producing highly skilled health professionals. His commitment to promptly address the university approval matter resonated with the audience, receiving resounding applause.

On this occasion, CEO RMI, Shafique Ur Rehman, said that RMI has been active in the education sector since the year 2008. Currently, Rehman Medical College (RMC), Rehman College of Dentistry (RCD), Rehman College of Nursing (RCN), Rehman College of Allied Health Sciences (RCAHS), and Rehman College of Rehabilitation Sciences (RCRS) are providing exemplary services and producing top healthcare professionals. He said RMI is a 'mother institute' of the province which changed the healthcare and health education landscape of the province. It has state-of-the-art infrastructure and services that not only provide quality healthcare but also top-notch education. RMI envisions Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a hub of innovation, highlighting the private sector's potential role in educational innovation.

Mr. Shafique Ur Rehman added that RMI education has the best faculty and infrastructure needed for a state-of-the-art and progressive university that can play role at global scale. Despite challenges such as law and order issues and economic instability, the approval of Rehman University is viewed as a crucial step towards addressing the escalating demand for healthcare workers in the Middle East and Europe.
