Dr. Zubair Durrani is an accomplished dental and maxillofacial surgeon with extensive training and experience. His educational journey and professional achievements reflect his dedication to excellence in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Since 2011, Dr. Durrani has been associated with RMI as a Consultant, Professor, and Head of the Maxillofacial Surgery Department.
After completing his house job at Limerick Regional and Cork Regional Hospitals, Dr. Zubair was accepted into the Basic Surgical Training Program of the Royal College of Surgeons. He successfully finished his rotation at Sligo General Hospital and obtained FRCS in General Surgery in 2002.
Following a 22-month period as a Registrar in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at St. James's Hospital in Dublin, he was accepted into the Higher Surgical Training Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, organised by the London Deanery under the auspices of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. As part of his training, Dr. Zubair worked at Ipswich General Hospital, Kings College Hospital, Guy's Hospital, St. George's Hospital, and Barts and London Hospital. He completed his training and obtained the Intercollegiate FRCS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2009. Consequently, his name was included in the GMC specialist list in the UK. In April 2010, he was appointed as a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Kent and Canterbury Hospital in the UK.
Education:
- Graduated with a degree in Dentistry from Khyber Medical College in 1989, achieving the top position among his graduating class.
- Completed a house job and proceeded to Ireland in 1991.
- Obtained FFDRCS in Oral Surgery from Ireland in 1994.
- Pursued a medical degree at Trinity College, University of Dublin, and obtained MBBCh; BAo in 1999.
Training and Certifications:
- Completed house jobs in Limerick Regional and Cork Regional Hospitals.
- Accepted into the Basic Surgical Training Programme of the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland.
