Research Interests

My primary area of research is host inflammatory responses to bacterial pathogens. I am also interested in the interaction of biomaterials with living tissue, more specifically, inflammatory and immune responses of human cells to biomaterials both in vitro and in vivo. Susceptibility of periodontal pathogens to antibiotics and antibiotic resistance is also an important area which I would like to explore further.
