Rehman College of Dentistry hosts symposium to boost clinical research in Pakistan

Rehman College of Dentistry (RCD), in collaboration with the Clinical Trials Unit at Rehman Medical Institute (RMI), held a major symposium on translational and clinical research on 26 July 2025. The event, accredited for Continuing Medical Education (CME), drew a diverse gathering of students, clinicians, academics and healthcare professionals to the RMI Auditorium in Peshawar.

Organised under the leadership of Dr. Naseer Ahmad, Director of Research at RCD, and supported by Principal Prof. Dr. Ghulam Rasool, the symposium featured keynote lectures, plenary talks, panel discussions, and a competitive research poster exhibition. One of the event’s key moments was the graduation ceremony for participants of the CHR/CCTM course.

Notable voices in the field enriched the discussions. Speakers included Prof. Dr. Saeed Ullah Shah from Shifa International Hospitals, Dr. Zilli Huma of Khyber Medical University, Prof. Dr. Ume Sughra of Al Shifa Eye Trust Hospital, Dr. Tanseer Ali of Tigermed, and Dr. Muhammad Zuhair from Aga Khan University. Each contributed critical insights on advancing clinical trials and translational research in Pakistan.
