Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Convene for Knowledge Exchange

A prestigious Grand Round of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) on 13 February brought together leading surgeons from across the province at Rehman College of Dentistry (RCD). Organized by the college’s OMFS department, the event served as a premier platform for specialists to present complex cases, exchange clinical insights, and discuss the latest advancements in patient care.

The opening ceremony was addressed by Prof. Dr. Ghulam Rasool, Principal of RCD, who underscored the necessity of professional synergy.

“We are interdependent on each other’s knowledge,” Prof. Ghulam Rasool remarked. “Such sessions should be held regularly to strengthen our clinical approach and improve patient outcomes.”

Prof. Rasool proposed rotating these sessions among various institutions to ensure broader participation and diverse clinical exposure. Reflecting on the discipline’s heritage, he noted that oral and maxillofacial surgery is among the oldest faculties in the region, emphasizing that the future of the field must remain collaborative and facilitative.
