RCD holds 3D model competition for dental students

PESHAWAR: The Department of Oral Biology at Rehman College of Dentistry (RCD) on 14 May hosted a 3D model exhibition featuring the work of first-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) students. The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical visualization through creative academic displays.

A total of 15 student teams took part in the challenge, showcasing intricate anatomical and biological models. These groups presented their work to a panel of experts and faculty members, demonstrating their grasp of complex dental concepts.

Scientific Exhibition

The competition was adjudicated by Dr. Jamal Nasir of Sardar Begum Dental College and RCD’s own Dr. Usama Siddiqui. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Tariq Ali Khan, Head of Periodontology, participated as the guest of honor to support the budding dental professionals.

RCD Principal Prof. Dr. Ghulam Rasool joined faculty members in reviewing the exhibits. He commended the students for their original thinking, scientific precision, and the clarity of their presentations.

Awards and Recognition

To honor the top achievers, the institution distributed certificates and cash prizes to the winning groups. The faculty noted that these extracurricular academic events are vital for building confidence and improving the students’ technical communication skills.

The event wrapped up with a ceremony celebrating the students’ hard work. Faculty members remarked that such hands-on competitions are essential for encouraging a more profound interest in the field of oral biology.
